FAQ

Questions merchants ask

Do I need to edit my theme?

No. Product image zoom is an app embed: one click in the app opens the theme editor with it switched on, and you click Save. Switch it off in the same place at any time.

My theme already has a zoom. Will shoppers see two?

No. The app finds the theme's own zoom (for example Horizon's zoom window or Dawn's lightbox and hover magnifier) and takes over those clicks, or leaves those images alone if you prefer. The app's home page also shows how to switch the theme's zoom off for your theme.

Which themes does it work with?

Horizon and Dawn (Shopify's own themes) and most themes built like them. On other themes it zooms the large product images on the product page. If yours aren't picked up, enter your gallery's CSS class in Settings.

Does it slow my product pages down?

The script is small, loads without blocking the page and waits for its stylesheet so nothing jumps. The zoom view loads when the browser is idle, and sharper images are only fetched when a shopper zooms.

Does it work with variant images?

Yes. When a shopper picks a variant and your theme changes the gallery, the app picks up the new images by itself.

Which languages?

The zoom view's buttons and screen reader text follow your store's language for English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese.
